2020 Syrah Columbia Valley
The 2020 growing season was warm during the summer
but cooled down at harvest which lead to long hang
times and vibrant character retention in the fruit. This
Columbia Valley Syrah offers beautiful characteristics of
sweet spice, black olive tapenade and blueberry notes. It
has wonderful complexity and is well balanced with a
richly textured mid-palate and lengthy finish.
Aged 18 months in 80% neutral, 20% new oak barrels.
Select vineyards that exhibit beautiful structure and distinctive varietal character were chosen for the final blend. Columbia Valley Vineyards give the wine its richness and full body. A 1993 planting at Dutchman’s Vineyard in the Yakima Valley enhances its brightness while Syrah from StoneTree Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope adds structure to the final blend. Grenache sourced from the Red Mountain AVA was added to highlight the texture and complexity of the wine.
